How I Feel About Blogger Awards

In a very short amount of time, I have realised how amazing the blogging community can be.  Full of incredible bloggers from all over the world, that welcome you with open arms.  Basically, it’s one giant, happy blogging family.  Whether you have been blogging for a while or you’re taking your first steps in the blogging world, we all come together to support one another and share our passions.

During my short time of blogging, I have discovered ‘awards’ that emphasise on supporting new and incredible bloggers.  There are so many awards floating around the blogging world including the honourable ‘Liebster Award.’

If a blogger gets nominated for the Liebster Award, they will answer 11 questions asked by the person who nominated them.  They will then nominate 11 of their favourite new bloggers and ask 11 questions of the their own.  It is an amazing way to support new/small bloggers and get to know the person behind the blog.

Within my first week of blogging, I was nominated for the award.  What an incredible moment!  As you can guess, I was so excited and incredibly honoured!  I couldn’t wait to start answering the questions.

I love supporting fellow new bloggers and showing them some love.  The best part of the award is being able to discover new blogs and nominating them to take part.  When you receive comments from amazing bloggers telling you how grateful they are about being nominated, you feel like you’re walking on cloud nine.  I love making people happy, and I feel like I’ve done that when making my nominations.

I have 2 Liebster Award posts on my blog!  Please feel free to check them out! 🙂

Recently, I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award for the 4rd time, and also the Sunshine Blogger Award for the 2nd time!!  It’s so hard for me to believe that I have been nominated for the same award 4 times within 3 weeks!!

Thank you to these lovely ladies for nominating me! 🙂 They are so amazing, and if you haven’t already, please check out their blogs!

I’m so grateful for all the nominations and I would like to say thank you to everyone for showing me so much love and support.  It’s such a nice feeling, knowing that people love my blog and truly believe in me.  However, I have been feeling so guilty about the number of nominations I have received, especially when I know there are so many incredible bloggers out there who have never been nominated for an award before.

Based on these recent events, I have decided that I will no longer be posting blogger awards on my blog.  I can only imagine how disheartening it must be for new bloggers to watch the same people get nominated over and over again.  I don’t like the idea of people feeling like their hard work isn’t being appreciated.

I want to give others a fair chance in the blogging community, and I want to show others how amazing they are!

If you do choose to nominate me in the future, I would be so grateful however I just won’t be posting on my blog.  I would be more than happy to suggest people who would love to be nominated. 🙂

The reason I started my blog was so I could post about my passions and things I love, as well as inspire others.  I have really enjoyed taking part in the Liebster Awards, however I feel like I haven’t had time to focus on posts that I want to write.  I have so many ideas but so little time to plan and write them, especially when I have a full time job during the week.  I would love to do tags again some day but for now, I want to focus on me, my blog and my content. 🙂

Even though I may not be posting some of these awards on my blog, I would love to answer your questions some day as part of a Q&A post?  Let me know if that’s something you might be interested in?

I hope you all understand my reasons for this and I will always be grateful for your love and support.  I’m so happy to have you all in my life, my giant blogging family. ❤

See you again soon

  1. You totally deserve all the awards! A Q&A post sounds like an interesting idea, and it’s a good substitute for not repeating any awards and going through all the motions again. Thanks for the shout out, and I definitely understand your feelings.

  2. Seems pretty sensible. Your blog would become a bit samey if you kept posting Liebster or similar awards. If you know anyone who wants to be nominated, send them my way. I’m going to do the Liebster you nominated me for in the next week or two but am struggling to find nominees.

  3. Hi! I can totally understand your opinion! Even though I have never been nominated for an award, it’s true that some people are sad if they see how often other people gwt nominated! Great post and lovely blog!
